I've been playing with it for a little while tonight and I can get a lot of things recolored, but there's still some that stays black like group chat backgrounds, the top browser style bar, and nearby chat window.  At least now I can see things and read the text on buttons and menus!  Still playing with it, so it might just be I haven't clicked the right thing to get rid of all the black backgrounds.

You'll need to have 2.0 installed first then find the colors.xml file. 
Program Files\SecondLifeViewer2\skins\default\colors.xml
Make a backup of the file, then load a copy up into the betacolors and try it out

Ooo I found a list of where Viewer 2 skins will be, so far there's just one "Starlight"

It's still dark though, but it arranges buttons around a bit.  Not sure if that grey/black used is lighter than the official 2.0 or not.  I didn't install it, just passing word along

I think I figured out why I can't change all the black to another color!  I have to change the textures too.  Gonna try that out this afternoon.
