Howdy Tinies,
I have a Idea for a firefly/serenity themed party for Sci-fi month.
Would any of you be interested in having a shiny Shindig.
Also for those who havent seen the show or movie maybe someone who has both can offer up them for streaming in the shire.
Eren has offered up prizes already and has a shiny Firefly ship to use as a backdrop.
I know we have quite a few tinies that love the show and movie so give me some feedback on what we can do to make this work.

Yay. I actually got into Second Life just to see a mock up of the Serenity Firefly ship. Then I got stuck in a doorway in the ship and had to quit SL to get out. hehehe forgot how to tp at the time :-)

I have the Bedlam Bards CD "On The Drift" and a number of Firefly filks from various sources. I can look how to contact the composers for permission to use.

LOl someone else came to SL for the same reason I did lol!
was the link on WhedonSque? causes thats how I found out about SL.
And oh yeah if we can get bedlam bards permission to use their music that would be shiny keep the ideas coming folks.

Xavian Starsiders owns BOTH the TV SHOW (all 4 parts) and the MOVIE. sooo I think you need to talk to him about this, as I had an inkling some tiny already owned these. always ask around on forums before buying anything reusuable, like movie/tv show, because tinies do tend to think alike and enjoy similar things, so the likelihood is we already have it. So we should utilize and combine our resources when possible, no point of more than 1 tiny buying same movie if we willing/able to share. |

That would be Shiny!  There has been talk of making this year's sci-fi month educational and are already tinies working on that I believe, but this could go alongside, yeah? Then we "educate" about The Man They Call Jayne. Hehehe.  |

I have permission in writing (well, electrons) for us to feel free to stream music from the CD "On The Drift" at a Firefly event if we like. The only request is that we please credit the musicians if possible. Whoo!

Okay, I (we) have permission to use the "On The Drift" songs; I have them ripped to mp3s -- what now? I'm not a DJ. Oh, and I see that Tom Smith's I'm On Firefly was released under a CC Noncommercial Share-Alike license, which means we can use it if we want to. Yay! Addendum: We have permission from Vixy and Tony to use their songs "Mal's Song" and "Apprentice" from their album Thirteen. Which, uh, I also own. I can have those babies ripped to mp3 in a trice. :-) |

Very cool  Yes Xav owns all of them inworld - all tv episodes plus the movie - and can share. If you have not been to the big Firefly replica, is awesom. Eren's is also totally fab. Tiny Mals, Tiny Jaynes, Tiny Inaras...... |

What about some sort of build event again? maybe ... 50 mins and 50 prims to build an alien using only specified textures? or only colours, bumpy, and shiny? so its all even playing field?
