Does Raglan take part in Burning Life? I noticed the deadline for the best spots (requires proposal) is coming up fast - Aug 31. (info)

Its a big RL thingie were people go the desert and build a giant art city for a week (they even have a plane strip and a hospital!). And then at the end everyone takes away everything so it is back to way it was before.
And they have an SL one thats kinda a little like SL5B.
There is trailer and post about it here: http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/08/19/burning-life-a-call-for-volunteers/

ya it basically is. last 2 Burning Lifes have been very similar to the SLB5.. alot of infighting of groups (not us though) and tons of Lag.

I was just curious if Raglan had ever done it -it sounds like too much of a mess tho and there are so many other neat things going on so forgets I asked!

Nuthin wrong with asking bout it Misa! to be fair, the concept is really cool and i cant deny i saw some really awesome stuff at the lst few Burning Lifes.. you know.. really creative thingys that creative folks took the time to make for people from all over the grid to come and enjoy.
But ya, there a lot of stuff going on on the Shire right now that I dont think its a priority. Unlike the SLB5 where a group of folks within the REAG group wanted to have a presence at and represent Raglan to the masses, I think everyones busy with current shire stuff or just burned out (heh, we can do that to ppl jhehe) to want to volunteer to do something Raglan themed at Burning Life or whatnot.
we has movies and ghost stories this week! Medieval fest in a few weeks through Sept! Halloween Month all october! Talent Show in November! Winterfest all december!
we just getting BIZZY Cheesy
Hoooooo!

Burning Life is very cool. I LOVE it. It was one of the first things I explored when I was a newbie. Even with a horrible graphics card, it was amazing. But unlike SL5B, it is not a general expo, rather it is for art and artistic builds. There is also lots of wonderful live music. Not really a showcase for Raglan - but would be great for individual artists or art collectives.

I didn't see much of an interest from my first post but just thought I would ask again... I have a burning life plot that I am going to share with some friends. If anyone was dying to get a space and couldn't, or if there is interest in a Raglan Shire presence please let me know asap so I can save some room (I have ravenous friends who devour prims worse than me!)

I'll tell them to add you to the list! I don't know how long it will take but hopefully you get an invite soon! I have the space split into 4 sections - and there are two that are empty (my friend Ti is taking whichever one you don't pick) so just pick one of those spots and start building! If we all split equally that is 300 prims each.

Cheesy wheeeee
