Kul Breiz Member If we build a PLanetarium we would be the first in SL to have a working useful dome shped building where the stars and galxies come alive. If what I read is true the Lindens are now allowing us to point the url of the prim to an outside source such as Google Space or another Planetaria Software bundle's output. It caqn be Warped into place and projected onto the dome inner side Whaddya think? Is it doable? I have 3 years experience running a Planetarium and have many resources available... I think it would draw the right kind of people to Raglan! Intelligent and funny Posted 2 months ago

Catten Carter Member I'm not 100% sure what is its you want to do, but I'll try and explain how the web texture works (from what I know). The calendar uses the media texture on land to display html on a prim. This can only work for one html url (texture) pr. parcel, so doing multiple urls wouldn't be possible. Even is you split the parcel up, you'd only see the texture of the region your in on all web enabled prims. Web texture isn't updated realtime. It shows a static image of a webpage once you press the media button, and is not updated again untill you stop/start the media, or forces a stop start with a script, resulting in the prim "loading" the texture again, much like a refresh in a webbrowser does. I've only tested this a few times my self, so I might be unaware of things that can be done to overcome these limitations, but will your idea still be possible knowing what I wrote above Kul? -- Edit -- One other thing - From what I know, Its not possible to show Java or Flash content or interact with the web page being shown in any way. Only pics, css and text can be used (maybe javascript - havent' tried). Posted 2 months ago
