I've noticed that tinies love food. We're always talking about it. Yesterday while rambling in chat, I jokingly asked if we were making a cookbook, and that got me thinking.

I am willing to compile and arrange a cookbook, with your help we can make something fantastic that could not only show everybunny some great recipes they might not have tried before, but also something which can be sold to help support a charity of our choice.

Contributors will certainly have mention, and as I'm thinking it could be fun to make it into a HUD book [goodness, am I in over my head yet?] we can get pictures of folks enjoying their tasty meals tiny style to give it a real cookbook feel. If... somehow... This works out well, perhaps finding some way to publish a real world version wouldn't be too beyond us? We are tiny, but mighty!

As this is just a baby idea, I am open to suggestions, any help, and most importantly RECIPES!

My thought on what charity to support is the American Humane Society, though again open to suggestions.

Please note I don't often actually look at the forum here, so sending a notecard in SL is probably the best means of getting my attention. I will try to keep this up to date as I get contributions and ideas.

Thank you all,
Vertigo Clarity, way too deep in it now.

Oh yes!  I think this is a great, fun idea, Vertigo!  I've got ... a LOT.. of recipes at my disposal.  And even more that I actually like!  Grin
Seriously, I could easily chip in a half dozen or so unique and family type recipes.  Just don't tell anyone else in my family.  I also have backstories for most of them, which I always thought gave them a real sense of tradition and took away that sterile, "I found this one in a cookbook" feel.

Oh I love it! My brain is whirling with ideas for you. I'm picturing a real "country cute" scrapbook look, with buttons and teddy bears and a cute font. What do you think? I wonder if you would want to put out a notice in Artisans calling for original recipes? I only have one to contribute, myself. I love the idea of supporting someplace critter-centric like the Humane Society. Oh, and you can use a Thinc book if you want a HUD. They aren't too hard to use, I understand; just need to make the textures and drop them in, I think.

Great idea Vertigo!
I'll send you one, or more, mouthwatering recipes!

A word about the charity tho: I'm hoping that every charity will get loads and loads of money. However, since we're an international community, I'd like "our" charities to be international too.
Tis a matter of principle...

Come to think of international: I think maybe you could encourage everbunny to send in original recipes from their country (or state, if you're in the US)!

The Humane Society is a great group.  What about one of the organizations that handles (trains, places, etc) assistance animals?  Like Paws With A Cause, or 4 Paws for Ability?  There are lots of them out there, both for-profit and non-profit.  There's also an association (if I'm reading this right) of these groups, Assistance Dogs International.  A few links are below.

Service animals are intelligent, amazing critters.  They help people with all sorts of needs, not just the blind.  Did you know there are now animals being trained as hearing animals for the deaf?  They are trained to alert their humans to things like smoke alarms, doorbells, telephones, and more.  There are basic companion animals, whose purpose is more or less to act as a constant companion.  I know a few people who have very severe panic disorders, and have service dogs which act as a focus point of sorts.  When the world starts to collapse, they can focus just on their dog, helping them stay calm.  There are seizure dogs, which are very special, in that they have the utterly amazing ability to sense a seizure in their human BEFORE it happens, and they can alert their human, who can then take whatever measures are required (pull the car over; put on whatever safety gear may be used; call someone to let them know they're about to have a seizure, etc).
I have no particular relation or attachment to service animals, except that I think they're all amazing, and serve an important role in the lives of many, many people.

There goes my amerocentric thinking. I'm wholly unfamiliar with international charities aside from the World Wildlife Federation, sadly. Any input on international organisations is a good plan.

I love the idea of having a story to go with the recipe, Copper. I remembered last night while trying to catch some z's that my best friend is a certified Cordon Bleu chef, so I'll probably get him to help me try out recipes just because I think it would be good to have photos as well. Food is good stuff.

I was going to say something more, but food thoughts made me hungry and I forgot myself.

I have bookmaker that makes HUD/object books (what i use for ghost story books). If you want me to make book for you, give me full perm textures (like 512x512) of the pages and I can compile it. I know a couple other folks have bookmakers also (Chaff, Rizzo, etc.).

Another idea is to make it a co-production with the Shire Times

In any case, if you want me to use my book machine just let me know =)
