Howdy all,
Here's a quick guide to maximising your Shire Times experience!
ReadingIf you log on and find that you haven't got the notice, just open up the group profile (Communicate > Groups > (highlight group) > Info), go to the Notices tab, and find the relevant notice. Then just click on Open Attachment, and the newspaper will copy over to your inventory.
Once you've found it, just click Wear and the paper attaches to HUD, which makes it easier to read. You can rez the paper too.
In either case, you can resize the book for ease of use. If you click the Menu tab at the bottom left hand corner of the left page, you are presented with a host of options; one is to resize. Just enter a number you wish to resize to, and the book will grow or reduce accordingly.
AdvertisingArtisans, you can advertise in the Times. A full page advert costs just $50L. All you need to do is make up a square-shaped texture, and send it to me, full perms. You can take out a maximum of 3 pages per issue. You can also specify whether you would like to have a double-page advert (you must then provide both halves of the advert, the left page and the right page).
The Shire Times goes out free to both the Friends and Artisans group, giving your advert a potential distribution of over 750 people straight away!
ContributionsThe Times is not written by one person; it is the product of several volunteers who provide their own articles for each issue. These contributors are not exclusive: ANYONE can submit stiories, anecdotes, pictures, or ideas towards the Times. Believe me, the more the merrier (and many paws make light work!).
If you have an idea, or would like to see one of your articles in print, do not hesitate to write it up on a notecard and deliver it in one of two ways. You can either send it directly to me, or you can post it into the Times sign on Raglan Commons. You do not have to provide pictures with articles, but they always help!
FeedbackTell us what you think! If you think something is missing, tell us! If you think something doesn't work, tell us! If you think that something needs more exposure, tell us that too!
It's a community paper, made for the community. It wouldn't serve anyone to have it not working!
