This really does break my heart.

Snoots Dwagon here.
I has three thoughts, mainly because this is Raglan.
1) IF the great tree has to be taken down, be SURE to have Inworldz keep a permanent backup file. Cos no telling when Raglan might return! : )
2) Elf Clan has a discount sim arrangement. Now, ordinarily that arrangement is only available to Elf Clan members for Elf Clan sims... but this is Raglan we talking about. I am pretty sure if I asked the Eldar, they would pull Raglan into our fold, not enforce the Charter in Raglan's case, let you keep the region where you want it to be, and drop your price to $50 a month instead of $75.
3) Rent booths and try to make the region pay for itself. (Free booths don't go far to pay sim fees and generate enthusiasm.)
Currently no one on that island is paying rent. Myself, as a merchant, I'd be willing to pay some rent just to help keep the Great Tree open. Anyone else feel the same way?
I know that the Raglan land isn't getting much use now. That's because Inworldz itself has a low concurrency. The reason for that is because they aren't advertising; unlike LL they want to make sure their platform is stable before they sell it to the mass market. But Tranq is *already* working on physics. The platform (at least for me) works so much better than SL as far as stability is concerned. When Inworldz finally starts advertising, our group is expecting lots of interest.
Agreed, Raglan is currently stationed and doing well on SL, but knowing LL that doesn't mean that will always be the case. Elf Clan left Second life November 2011 because we just got tired of dealing with LL attitude and increasing prices, as well as their "Iron Curtain" mentality that suddenly turned "our world" into "their property". We packed our bags and left.
Raglan of course, isn't to that point... yet. But it sure seems sensible to have one little extra basket of eggs on da side just in case and well... eberone loves Steve II on Inworldz. It an amazing build.
So, come under Elf Clan's wing and save $25 a month. Or rent out shops and homes and try to make Steve pay for itself on Inworldz. Or shut it down but make sure Inworldz keeps a copy. Any way you do it... by all means *preserve that build*. It is unique and wunnerful.
