The Summer of Woot returns this year and fun abounds!  The ‘OOL has returned for your watery enjoyment. Splash a friend, have a swim, take a dive , listen to some (or Play some) music on the steel drums & as always you can pick up some great watery and summer themed wares OOL-SIDE at the Artisan Merchant area. Thanks to the fine folks who took the time to construct this years OOL!

Over the next few months look for OOL fun, live music, WOOTSTOCK 2013, Pirate Month and MOAR as The annual SUMMER OF WOOT arrives at your doorstep… NOW WITH COUPONS…

The Raglan Shire ArtWalk 2013 opens Sunday May 5th, displaying the works of over 130 artists over four sims in an outdoor setting.  The show runs from May 5th through May 26th. Artists gridwide converge to exhibit their RL photography and art and SL photography and sculpture in this annual arts festival, hosted by the tiny community of the Raglan Shire sim cluster.

“When I first opened these sims for tinies, I started ArtWalk in 2007, inspired by the ArtWalk of Seattle, Washington,” said Zayn Till, Magistrate of Raglan Shire. “We want to give artists a fabulous opportunity to exhibit both RL and SL art. Over the years it has grown into one of the biggest art festivals in SL.”

2D art of many kinds are exhibited along the hedgerows in the central area of Raglan Shire sim. SL sculptural works are exhibited among the trees and along the shores of the western half of Heron Forest in Heron Shire, in the park on Morning Shire and around the Athen Shire village.  TP kiosks to the display locations are throughout the grounds of the festival.

“We are once again so excited to see such a wonderful collection of excellent works exhibited by the artists of Second Life,” said Teal Freenote, ArtWalk Director, herself one of the exhibiting artists. “Fabulous artists, both tiny and big, make this a visual feast.  What better way to enjoy May than wandering the lush grounds of the Shires reveling in wonderful art!”

Avatars of all shapes and sizes are welcome to visit the show during May and enjoy wandering these enchanting sims dedicated to tiny avatars.

Once again this year, Toady & Clover of Frog & Cat Production™ have created The All New! All Different! All OSSM APRIL FOOLS HOUSE! It’s rife with fun & mayhem of FOOLISH proportions and there is so much to see and explore ( with potentially dire circumstances should you… well… you’ll see!) as well as dozens and dozens of free prizes & gifts scattered about the House & it’s grounds .. some hidden!

It’d up and viewable to the public for the next few days so GET YOUR FOOL ON & go visit THE APRIL FOOLS HOUSE OF FOOLNESS!

April 2013 will mark Raglan Shire’s 6th anniversary of being and as usual we are holding a themed-event month to celebrate. This year’s may prove to be one of the most exciting and dynamic yet!

It’s Super 6: Superheroes versus Supervillains!

For the 30 days of April, the League of Defenders (LoD) will fight back against the forces of the Legion of Tiny Villains (LTV) from spreading their influential menace across the cluster!

The LoD have erected a glorious base of operations beside the Shire’s favourite social hangout, the Paw & Whisker clubhouse. It’s a pristine white villa and has been strategically placed directly opposite the abandoned warehouse that the LTV have taken up residence in. The former base of operations of The Leftovers Catering Company has fallen into ruin but the LTV are now using it to cook up their own evil schemes!

So what do you need to do? Well first, choose your super secret identity – it could be an existing hero or it could be a brand new hero with a custom outfit; and then find some allies and prepare to square off against your foes!

But on whose side of the stream will you align yourself with? Will you stand alongside the heroes of the League of Defenders or will you set out to cause trouble with the Legion of Tiny Villains? Or will you align yourself with neither? Perhaps you will be a mercenary, ready to fight for the highest bidder or perhaps you are already part of a group that will take on all-comers!

April 2013 marks Raglan Shire’s SIXTH birthday and this year’s event may TEAR IT ALL APART!

Hopefully not – we have Artwalk in May! But it’ll be all good fun in the meantime! All you have to do is decide which side you’ll align yourself with: the LOD or the LTV? More details coming soon! Mwuahahaha!

Raglan Shire  Steampunk Mardi Gras Parade 2013

Your presence is requested Sunday, February 10, Noon SLT, for a highly entertaining public amusement, the annual Raglan Shire Mardi Gras Parade. This event enjoys a reputation as on of the most charming and silly spectacles of the year, one at which the artisans of these humble sims outdo themselves in the creation of loats and exhibitions sure to delight and humor you. This year’s steampunk theme may even inspire you to partake of the frivolities firsthand.

Should you be so moved, please visit the Silica Cube and procure your very own parade float kit with all necessary instructions inside. It’s free, easy, and a marvelous way to immerse yourself in the cavalcade of curiosities that is the Raglan Shire Steampunk Mardi Gras Parade!

The Tinies share their favorite recipes for “noms”  in The Raglan Shire Winterfest Cookbook 2012. Compiled and edited by Rowena Paine, its chock full of yummy things contributed by the Tinies of Raglan Shire™.

It doesn’t take long to notice that Tinies like nomming, like thinking about nomming, like talking about nomming, like sharing nomming, like making noms, and dreaming up new noms.

What better way to celebrate that part of Tiny life than a cookbook? And what better reason to celebrate than Winterfest, that most nommingest time of the year!

Wow, its Wootmas Eve… almost the end of 2012.  Isn’t it amazing how fast time goes by? I thought rather then send out note cards and virtual cards to everyone which would take me time that unfortunately I simply do not have, that I would write up a post detailing my appreciation and thanks to and for everyone’s help and support as we continue The Tinies of Raglan Shire community forward.

I’d like to thank everyone for the kind holiday & birthday gifts and cards and well wishes. It amazes me that anyone would take the time to do something so simple yet so thoughtful for someone like me. It means a lot.

I’d like to thank all the people who graciously rent land, homes and shops on the Shire and thereby subsidize our tier and all the things we need to stay afloat. You allow us to exist month after month and indirectly provide for all the activities we put on and all the extras we put forth to make the sims nice for residents and visitors alike. Without you, Raglan Shire would have ended years ago.

I’d like to thank everyone who puts forth their time and energy to welcome new friends and make them feel at home. I’d like to thank all the folks who work so hard to help create, implement, organize and put on the amazing events & activities we hold on a regular basis. It is no easy task and deserves recognition.

I’d like to thank the folks who make Raglan Shire a warm and friendly place and who respect what it represents. Whether your a content creator, a musician, a DJ, a scriptor, a resident, a builder, an artist, a visitor, an event manager or just someone who does what they can to help , be it with a smile or a kind word…. I personally thank all of you for your effort and for being who you are.

It’s going on 6 years now since I made it a mission to start a community based on these things that are a part of what I hold so important in reality. I never could have imagined we’d still be around all this time later and in such a positive and decent manner in which we have excelled and grown.

This has become SUCH an important part of my life and has made me truly see the merit in these things that we do to such a degree ( AKA key aspects of interpersonal relations and creativity in any reality) that as you all know,  Wynx and myself have now spent the last few years working very hard to bring it all to a wider audience with Jazz paws & the Re-imagined “Tinies of Raglan Shire“.

Its Art! It’s Winter!! Its ART MADE OUT OF ICE!!! Or as Etheria says best… ICE IS NICE!!!

Every Winterfest it is a Raglan Shire Wootmas tradition to have the Ice Sculpture Garden & Exhibition for all to enjoy. Originally created by Etheria Parrott to give folks a way to express themselves regardless of ability and to learn new skills ( such as learning how to use sculpts or this year, Mesh) and to give them a lovely place prominently displayed on Ice Bases at The Ice Sculpture Garden  for everyone to visit and admire. This years Sculpture Garden is once again in the Heron Shire Forest amongst the trees, decorations and snow.

You are invited to create an Icy work of art with 5 prims… you can make a sculpted object , a mesh object or even prim icy ossmness. Again this is a tradition and it’s always been quite magical to walk about the garden and see the various Ice works as created by friends and neighbors of the Tiny Community of Raglan Shire. It’s Winter.. Its Creativity & self Expression, It’s ART with no judgement!

It’s everything that Raglan Shire stands for best..
