LADIES & GENTLETINIES…START YOUR ENGINES!
Saturday at 12 Noon SLT its the FIRST of the M.I.C.R.O. Racing series on Raglan Shire as Tinies take to the Course set up along the Raglan Shire sim in an attempt to capture Tiny Racing GLORY! WOOOT!
This is a Rally style course and has perilous obstacles that will stand in the way of the racers as they zoom about the track! Waffle Cart Kits have been made available to competitors who have been encouraged to modify the kits to their individual specifications! Honors go out to the top racers and there will also be a contest as well in which spectators will pick their favorite Modded Waffle Cart racers!

Also this weekend, On Sunday at 1pm Frogg Marlowe will be performing LIVE from Raglan Shire! If you’ve never seen him before, know that he has been a mainstay of live musical performance on Second Life for years and is one of the biggest musical attractions on the grid along with his partner Jaycat Nico. Frogg has a nice sound and brings some humour to the virtual stage so you wont want to miss his performance sunday at 1pm SLT.

FROOTCAKE! A TOURNEY OF INTENTS PROPORTIONS!
This weekend on Saturday & Sunday its the First Ever Raglan Frootcake Tourney! Come register at the registration box in front of The Paw & Whisker on the Raglan Shire sim by dropping a notecard with your name to enter yourself as a competitor! $2200L In prize Monehs and awesome Tropiescreated by Trebek for the top 3 winners!
Start time for both days is 11 am SLT and Legolas and Daveypup will be you hosts! If you’ve never played FROOTCAKE before wot you waiting for? Its a horribly easy and addictive game to learn that combines strategy, skill and luck and is soooo much fun to play with others! Its also a game that tinies excell at and is quite competitive and silly when we all are playing!
Tonight (wednesday) at 7pm SLT at The Paw & Whisker is a great time to come play and or learn how to play as DJ SHandy Will be spinning tunes of ambient & rhythmic nature for folks to dance too, relax too and play FROOTCAKE too! With the tourney only a few days away NOWS the time to start prepping for YOUR shot at FROOTCAKE GLORY!!

The newest edition of the Shire Times has just been published and as usual Chaffro and his crack staff have delivered another issue of articles, informative news bytes and entertaining stories! The Times now in its 2nd year of publishing has been the Shires definitive news source put on entirely by the residents of the communty and reflects the diverse and fun loving nature of the Shire. Chaffro & Company are always looking for new members to be a part of the Times staff and as such the publication is open to everyone for submissions, stories, articles and editorial pieces. A Month to Chillax…. Sorta XD
We’ve just finished up the 2009 Raglan Shire Art Walk and WOW wot a Art Walk it was!! (ART!!!!) Over 75 Artists showed their works all over the Shire and artists and guests and tinies had nothing but kind things to say! It was a nice month of Art and Live Music and Live performance… ART!!! ON A HEDGE!!! WRAPPED IN BACON…..errr….
Sadly Art Walk has ended and all the art and hedge and topiary have been taken down but… You can still see Art all around on The Raglan Art Gallery Platfrom or in the Paw & Whisker and soon a ton on the Great Tree Steve! And of course theres tons of Galleries and exhibitions ALL OVER the grid to quench yur Taste for ART!!!! Of course, we might be the only place where you can see Art.. ON A HEDGE!! I mean.. Cereal, how can it be Art if it not on Hedge? Im just Sayin!! XD
June will be an off month as we take a break and kick back before the Big Pirate Summer starts Mid July through Mid August. There will still be games like Primtionary & Guest appearances of The VAA group doing Haiku Build plus Classes at Raglan U and maybe even some new Games as well… PIZZA ANYBUNNY? Also look for some Racing fun, a Frootcake Tourney and you might wanna start getting your Tiny Surfing on at the Raglan Galaxy sim on the beach.. just sayin.. Look for Surfing competitions coming in the summer… you wanna be in top tiny surfin form! Also Look for The Shire to Represent at the SL 6th Birthday Celebration. So… Not like there wont be anything to do on the Shire…Just no Boffo big event activity themed months like whats coming up in July and through the Rest of the year!
Halfway Through the year now and we rest up as we prepare for the Raglan Pirate Summer in July & August.. Pirate themed everything over the sims, activities.. It will be pirate and Victorian themed so expect boat races and fancy dances and events and all sorts of YARRRR!
Thia is when everything will start to pick up and go absoulutely nuts as After the Pirate Summer, we’re looking at having the big Boffo Tiny Fashion Show which wil then be followed by our 3rd Annual Raglan Medieval Festival which is HUGE and which will be followed by our All Hallows Eve Month in October which is HUGE.. and then we have the Annual Talent Show in November followed by the 3rd Raglan Shire WInterfest which is HUGE… so.. we take a break in June to get ready cuz it gonna start getting crazy again shortly…

WE HAZ CUL-CHAH!!!
Art Walk has been a lot of fun so far with folks enjoying the impressive amount of Arts all over the Shire! Last weekend we had live music performed by FrankLee Anatra at the Acron stage on the Art walk grounds, An Exellent Photo Hunt Hosted by Azelle and earlier this week we had a special Guest edition of V.A.A’s Haiku Build hosted by Special Jewell! Great Art themed stuff for folks to enjoy and this weekend brings even more fun things for people to attend!
On Saturday ay Noon SLT, we will be treated to another fine live musical performance as Hathead Rickenbacker plays the Shire for the first time! And then on Sunday at noon SLT, its an extra special treat as The SIlken Ballet Company, Performs A Midsummer Nights Dream for the Shire Community! You’ll want to get there early for good seats! Look for Info and Notices both days before the shows!

Art! It’s on a Hedge!
This weekend kicked off the Art Walk and Wow! There’s so much Art! The last week has seen all the participating Artists fervently setting up their Art work about the Hedgerows on Raglan Shire and the Forest on Heron Shire. There are 75 artists of all shapes and sizes ( including quite a few members of the Raglan Tiny Community w000t ) and from all over the globe showing all manner of real life paintings from oils & acrylics to drawings with pencils and charcoals, to digital artwork to real life photography plus Second Life based photography and Second Life Sculpture of all types.
It really is something to see! Thus far hoards of tinys and biggie visitors to the Shire have been seen strolling about taking it all in, discussing with their friends what they like as well as meeting some of the artists! The 2009 Art Walk will continue for the remainder of the month and will also include live musical performances as well as a Perfromance by The Silken Ballet on the 24th. Look for more info here and inworld, check the event calendar and enjoy the Art Walk!

So now that our 2nd Birthday has come and gone and the Wild West Town is getting ready for the wrecking crew, I just wanted to send out a big thank you on this, my THIRD REZ DAY (w00t) to everyone who has helped the Community either by actively participating, or creating things for folks to do, or by renting land, vendor space or cottages or simply by being there for folks and being helpful and friendly and all of it in the best spirit of collaboration! Despite what folks may think, The Shire is basically the next best thing to a non profit organization that you can have and without the support on the many levels that folks have shown, we wouldn’t have been able to last this long and do the things we have been able to do without ALL OF YOU!
Thanks to everyone who has made The Raglan Shire Community a fun and welcoming place for everyone

Hey Y’all, its time to play the Raglan Shire Squares!
Sunday at 12 pm Noon SLT, is the Debut of the new Shire game show, The Raglan Shire Squares! Come join us at the Squares Stage Sunday and watch as contestants vie for Linden Cash & Prizes! We’ve got 9 Tiny SL-ebrities in the Squares to assist the competitors and we’ll be randomly choosing the contestants from the studio audience! So if you come to watch, YOU might be picked to play the Squares!
Also this weekend marks the end of the Wild West Birthday Celebration with more Western Primtionary, Live Musical performances, the Closing Western Party on Saturday and some extra STUFF! We’re Ending Raglans 2nd Birthday celebration with a bang!

Tiny Elvis in the Sack!
Last weekend we had much fun as folks whooped it up at the Old Western Town on Raglan, kickin up their boots in the streets to music streamed by Shady Fox as well as being entertained by Live Musician Vincent Merricks who performed at the “Stage Coach” Stage to a Hootin & hollerin audience! On Sunday we had The Wild West/Easter Sack race of DOOM in which 25 participants donned sacks and hopped their way around a course that took them around the entire Raglan Shire sim. Onlookers gathered at the Wild West town and watched the sack racers hopping around the course at break neck speeds! In the End it was Kayak who took 1st place for Tiny Sack Racing Glory! grats Kayak!
This weekend we have more rootin’ tootin’ fun as Live musician Bonnikins Margulis takes the Stage Coach STAGE at High Noon on Saturday to perform for folks! Plus we have Wild West Ghost Stories later on as folks will gather around the Camp Fire at the Indian Village to tell tales of scary scares! Look for The WIld West Build Challenge as well over the weekend and some other fun things for folks to do as well!
