The Raglan Shire ArtWalk 2012 opens Sunday May 6th, displaying the close to 2000 works of over 130 artists over four sims in an outdoor setting.  The show runs from May 6th through May 27th.  Artists gridwide converge to exhibit their RL photography and art and SL photography and sculpture in this annual arts festival, hosted by the tiny community of the Raglan Shire sim cluster.

“When I first opened these sims for tinies, I started ArtWalk in 2007, inspired by the ArtWalk of Seattle, Washington,” said Zayn Till, Magistrate of Raglan Shire. “We want to give artists a fabulous opportunity to exhibit both RL and SL works. Over the years it has grown into one of the biggest art festivals in SL.”

2D art of all kinds is exhibited along the hedgerows in the central area of Raglan Shire sim. SL sculptural works are exhibited among the trees and along the shores of the western half of Heron Forest in Heron Shire sim, in the parks on Morning Shire and Raglan Commons sim.
TP kiosks to all display locations are throughout the grounds of the festival.

Teal Freenote, ArtWalk Director, herself one of the exhibiting artists. “Fabulous artists, both tiny and big, make this a visual feast.  What better way to enjoy May than wandering the lush grounds of the Shires reveling in wonderful art!”

A few of the many artists exhibiting are Sledge Roffo, Van Caerndow, Corcosman Voom, Cat Boccaccio, briawinde Magic, StarZ33 McCullough, Gleman Jun, Nessuno Myoo, Teal Freenote, Kicca Igaly, Revontuli Oh, Kicca Igaly and Carlotta Ceawlin.

Avatars of all shapes and sizes are welcome to visit the show during May and enjoy wandering these enchanting sims dedicated to tiny avatars.

Raglan Shire’s Wild West month will be rolling out soon, but there is still plenty of time to celebrate Raglan Shire’s 5th birthday with Old West fun!  There is cow art, story telling, dancing, gunfights, bull riding, and much much more.  Check out the Western Village and the Native American Village on Raglan Shire.

And Artwalk Registration is open until Sunday, April 29 at 9 pm SLT.  Raglan Shire is hosting its 7th ArtWalk in May 2012. A 3-week long, multi-sim art festival, it is one of the art highlights of SL. Residents of Second Life may show their artwork during this time.  Reproductions of RL artwork (painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, and digital media. that can be imported and put on a prim) are encouraged, along with SL artwork including photography and sculpture.

Plus, live music with Wolfie Moonshadow at 1pm, Sunday, immediately followed at 2pm with the “APRIL FOOL You Must Be Kidding Party” with DJ Shady Fox. Keep your eyes open for pranks.  It’s gonna be FABTASTIC!!

Many people might already be aware of Wynx’ and my plans to bring The Tinies of Raglan Shire to the real world as an animation and multi-media project beyond virtual worlds. If this is the first you’re hearing about it, that’s ok!

A little over two years ago Wynx and myself began what would become JAZZ PAWS®, a production company charged with re-imagining what we had created in Second Life & InWorldz to a much broader audience while still maintaining the essence of what the tiny community we had started is all about.

Today we launched Our Kickstarter Campaign to help raise much needed funds to allow us to continue with this project. While you certainly don’t have to contribute and help us monetarily, any help that you can give is greatly appreciated at this point in time.  We have a nice video with the two of us explaining what this project is all about and what we’re trying to do for folks to watch. Its fun and wacky and informative!

ZOMG! Mardi Gras is here – and it has gears!

Parades! Floats! Sprockets! Beads! Music! Steam! Gators! Feathers! Étouffée!

Head on down to Mardi Gras Square in Raglan Shire for the finest in gear and steam driven fun. Mark your calendars for March 4th – the annual Mardi Gras parade. Grab a float kit and build a fabulous float to enter in the parade, or just watch the excitement from the sidelines. The parade is always one of the highlights of the year in Raglan and not to be missed! Watch the calendar and group announcements for info about other upcoming events.

ValenTinies Day is almost here, and Raglan is celebrating with a weekend of 50s themed fun. Grab your poodle skirts and leather jackets! On Saturday, Feb. 11 – grab your coolest mode of transportation and join us for a car cruise around the Shires. Following the cruise will be a movie. Two cruise times are scheduled – noon and 6pm SLT.

The annual ValenTinies Dance is Sunday, Feb. 12. starting at 1 pm SLT. All the hep critters and cool cats will be there!

It is with the utmost sadness that Raglan announces the closing of the Inworldz sim and The Great Tree.  While there is sorrow at the closing of the sim, we must take time to thank all of the artisans, builders, and residents with such huge imaginations and so much talent, who worked their tiny paws to the bone to create such an incredible home away from SL home for us. Two paws up!! WAAAAAY UP!!

Recently, Mutley and her otter friends were chasing butterflies around Raglan Shire (click here to see video of the chaos) and dropped all of her clams, filled with fabulous prizes and shiny things.  A hunt is on to round up all of the clams.  I interviewed the fabulous Miss Latte about Otter Day.

Me: What is Otter day all about, for those that don’t know?
Mutley Latte: Otter day is my Rezzday. I discovered that another Otteri, Bo was rezzed the the day before me, so we made Otter Day. Half on her day and half on mine. Its a way to show our love for our fellow tinies.
Me: Why are otters so fabulous?
Mutley Latte: Because we are otters.
Me: Pirates or ninjas and why?
Mutley Latte: pirates. Jack Sparrow, need i say more?
Me: Anything else you want to add?
Mutley Latte: Play nice.
